Removing a stump with an excavator
- Clear around the stump and expose the main roots.
- Cut the roots with the bucket teeth or a ripper, working around the stump.
- Lever the stump by digging under one side and lifting gently — don't overload the machine.
- Lift out and fill the hole, compacting as you go.

Safety
- Never lift or lever beyond the machine's stable capacity.
